How about all the hosts that think I should pay insane cleaning fees and then ask me to clean up? I'm not doing sweeping, loading a dishwasher, or taking out your trash. I'll never trust AirBNB again and I used to be an avid supporter when I was travelling 1-2 times a week.
The last straw for me was when the host refused to communicate for for 5K stay during XMAS in NYC. It took 2 days of hounding AirBNB and them also not being able to communicate with host. I also had to point out that address in question was a commercial building with no apartments in it. They went out of their way to steal my money. Finally my wife ended up getting someone who cared and when she rattled off the company values aka empathy, it changed the entire conversation and we finally got a refund. I can't and won't do that again so hotels is where it's at for me moving forward.
